Welcome to our Online Shop!

We have confidence in what we sell, therefore we only sell brands that are robust, innovative, reliable and trusted.

Purchasing a sewing machine is a big deal. Getting the right one to fit your needs is important. We offer a personal service to all our customers who are looking for an experience with a company who know what they are talking about, can provide back up and be on hand to answer any questions.

That's why we don't sell directly online to customers.

Did you know that when you buy a sewing machine online from a company, they are responsible for the care and warranty of your machine? Therefore if any issues were to arise, your machine would have to go back to the shop you purchased from more often than not at your cost!  Not easy when it could be hundreds of miles away.

By offering a "click and collect" service, you can try before you buy, compare to other models, have a 1-1 lesson on your machine and have any problems fixed by your local sewing machine shop including repairs and servicing.

We have many customers who pop in with their recent makes from their new machine. It builds community, inspires others plus we really do care and love to see!

Who doesn’t smile when they see the first Daisies and Bluebells of the year? These little native flowers herald lighter, longer days and provide vibrant woodlands and cheer the gardens.

On this one-day course Sarah will guide you through the process of creating your own small textile artwork using either flower.

We will use a variety of fabrics to create the base for your design – it’s a great way to practice your free machine embroidery techniques. We will then add the Daisies or Bluebells, not with traditional applique, but by using free motion stitching, which is much more fluid and delicate. Afterwards, we will be using hand stitching, embroidery and beads to further embellish your pieces.

You will make a piece that will be suitable to mount in a 23 x23 cm square deep frame – Ikea Ribba frame or similar.

Things to do before the course date

Decide on a which flower you wish to include in your work.

Please let K & B know which flower when you book so that I can provide the correct basic kits.

Bring any suitable silk, organza and cotton (not patterned) snippets you have at home.

Your palette will then dictate the machine and hand embroidery threads and beads you bring with you.

Find some close-up photos of your chosen flowers as they are invaluable as a reference for embellishment.

Please make sure you are familiar with your machine and that you know how to change thread, feet and know how to lower your feed dogs. If you are new to a machine then contact Katie at K&B Sewing Machines who can give you a 1:1 lesson.

Do not worry if you are not the greatest artist – we will work together to create something together that you can be proud of.

Looking forward to meeting you all soon

Sarah
